2018 kingco coach of the year

Coach Wayne Maxwell is in his 20th year as the head coach of the Falcons. In 2018, Coach Maxwell  was named the 2018 Kingco Coach of the Year after leading the Falcons to their third straight KingCo championship, advancing to the semifinals of the state playoffs. In 2017, Coach Maxwell led the Falcons to a state runner-up finish in the state playoffs after winning a second consecutive KingCo 4A championship with an 8-0 league record. In 2016, the Falcons went 9-0 and captured the KingCo Championship, advancing to the state quarterfinals. Coach Maxwell was selected the 2016 KingCo Coach of the year and the Washington State District 2 Coach of the year. Coach Maxwell was selected to coach in the 2017 International Bowl for the USA Football National Team. Coach Maxwell was also selected as the Head Coach for the 2017 East-West All State game. In 2015 the Falcons finished the season with an appearance in the State Quarterfinals and Coach Maxwell was then selected to coach in the 2016 Semper Fidelis All American Bowl. In 2011, he guided the team to a KingCo Championship and was the 2011 KingCo Coach of the Year, 2011 Seattle Times Coach of the Year, and was selected as coach for the 2012 East-West All State game. In 2015 Coach Maxwell took the Falcon’s to a second place finish in the 2005 State Championships and was named King County Journal All-Eastside Coach of the Year. In 2004 Coach Maxwell was also named KingCo Coach of the year in his first season as the Head Coach for the Falcons.

Coach Maxwell graduated from Inglemoor HS in 1994 where he played football and baseball. In September 2005, he was inducted into the Inglemoor HS Hall of Fame. He graduated from Central Washington University in 1999 where he played defensive back for the Wildcats. In 2003, he earned his Masters Degree in Teaching from Grand Canyon University. Coach Maxwell is in his 19th year of teaching physical education and coaching for the Falcons, serving as an assistant on both the football and baseball coaching staffs prior to being named as Head Football Coach at Woodinville. He and his wife, Lara, have a daughter, Addison, who has a passion in horse riding.
